It’s been a while since i even took a second look at a Reebok sneaker, but i must say that Reebok’s Spring/Summer 2009 is looking quite nice. Reebok has teamed up with Christopher Shannon to produce these latest sneakers. For the first time in a LONG time I’m actually excited for a Reebok sneaker/s. It’s funny because when i was little, Reeboks were the only shoes i would really even look at, or thought were cool (Pump/InstaPump). Somewhere along the line Nike stole all of Reebok’s glory. I’m happy to see that Reebok has returned to the limelight.
Hey kiddies, sorry for the long delay. I’m back in action and this time with a throwback i know all of you are fiending for. I was sadly playing rockband and got all caught up in the songs that are so dear to my heart. So i thought i’d share a portion of the mixtape i just made.
Oh yeah you like that don’t you. Don’t worry every Thursday i will try and stir up those feelings of nostalgia. Speaking of which, i just picked up a copy of Street Fighter IV and i must add, it is pretty bad ass. Of course this is coming from the competitive nerdy gaming angle. There is a few things that are apparently broken about the game (eg command throws), but other than that it’s a fun game. As far as how balanced it is, only time will tell. It will take the nerds in the research room a few, to try and break the game. Until the game is proven to be and i quote “Mad Brokes” i recommend that everyone go out and purchase a copy. The game will make you feel like a kid again. Remember those days lining up for Street Fighter II. I even recall the minuscule reference to SF II in an episode of Baywatch. That is when i realized Street Fighter was much more than a game. It’s something much deeper. I will end with the analogy, Pong is to baby boomers as Street Fighter is to twenty somethings.
With so many failed attempts at “killing” the Iphone, i can gladly say that their are a few new contenders that might just do it. I myself, got caught up in this Iphone killing mess and purchased one of the previous “Iphone killers”, the Samsung instinct. I must admit it does have certain features the Iphone can’t touch, like turn by turn GPS, one button voice activated search, and a few other widgets. Although, as a whole the phone is sluggish when multitasking, has sub par youtube/video quality, and an internet browser reminiscent of Windows 3.1. The Iphone definitely wins in speed, music/video playback, browsing, and cool factor. Not far in the horizon there are two new phones that just might give the Iphone a run for its money. The first is the Palm Pre. It has been voted CNET best of CES 09 and favored by many as the “official” Iphone killer. I must admit after seeing it in action it makes the Iphone look, not so cool anymore. It features multi-page tasking, a 3.2 megapixel camera w/flash, and a new linux browser that leaves Safari in the dust. Here’s a clip of it in action.
So where there’s a Rat..theres Cheeze and right now I feel like I need to talk about something that has been of serious concern to me for quite some time: Rockband. This shit is getting out of hand.

I just heard today that EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) has printed their last issue last month. WTF? This mag was my inside source for gaming and one of my many links to yesteryear. Reading it when i was a kid was one of my many geeky past times. I can vividly remember their Street Fighter II vs Mortal Kombat issue like it was yesterday. It’s like a piece of my childhood is being taken away. Aw well that’s part of life, only the strong survive. In that case, i think magazine readers are a dying breed. Sad really… I guess this is a sign of the times and the “Awesome” economy the previous administration left us. EGM you will be missed
